New Member / Looking for music examples

Hello group!

I have been looking to the A100 as a possible choice for my first
true analog modular. I own a Nord Modular, but I'm interested in the
real deal. I would like to hear the A100 in the context of finished
musical pieces. I've been reading up on the posted messages, but if
anyone has links to their work, please send them to me (links, not
files) at tonsil @ sgi.net (eliminate spaces) and I'll check it out.
Let me know what role(s) the Doepfer is playing so I know what to
listen for. Thanks!

As for my interests, I'm into making industrial, ambient, techno-ish,
experimental music... it really depends on what mood I'm in that day.
I like Jarre, Aphex Twin, Bauhaus, Juno Reactor, Laibach, Joy
Division just to name a few. Not that all of that is relevant to
modular synthesis.

Before I start asking stupid questions, I'm going to go back to
reading posts. Thanks again!

Be warned: The link requires you sign up (email address, DOB, etc.)
before being allowed to listen to ANY MP3's.

Personally, I am opposed to questionaires, especially if I am simply
checking out someone's efforts.

Not everyone will find this objectionable, but I don't want spam from
an MP3 site just because I listened to someone's submission as an
example.

By the way (and in spite of what I wrote above), there are some very
excellent sounds on the Mitchell stuff.

Regards,
Kevin

Here's one by John Mitchell:
http://artists.mp3s.com/artist_song/1325/1325379.html

If the link doesn't work, go to
http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/225/john_a_mitchell.html amd click on
"Neverglades (a tone poem)".

RE: mp3.com. If you don't want to get the junk e-mails from them, you
can always do what I did - use a fake address. Something like
xxx@anywhere.com. As long as there are @ and .com, it'll let you
listen. Also, to the poster looking for examples, do a search for
Doepfer at Mp3.com. I remember that there was a guy that used an A100
pretty exclusively on there.

I noticed the original poster was currently using a Nord Modular.
Personally, when playing live, I like to use my Nord Micro-Modular in
conjuction with my Korg MS2000r. That way, I can use all the Korg's
knobs to control the Nord, and set up's a breeze.

However, at my home studio, I MUCH prefer to use the Doepfer. As we
all
know, nothing quite matches the sound and the hands on appeal of an
analog true modular. It's always easy enough to APPROXIMATE any nifty
patches to the Nord for live use!

...and you can always try something like `root@mp3.com' ;-))
