Selling generally

Selling generally

2009-03-20 by Pierre Zeeman

Hi,

I know people use the list to advertise their modules for sale, but I'm
curious as to what is the appropriate etiquette. Should we offer them to
the group first and then ebay? Is it considered bad form to list items on
ebay first and then mention it here? Fwiw, I'd be inclined to offer things
here first at a good discount over what I'd be hoping to get on ebay.

Also, people mostly have multi-manufacturer modulars these days, should sale
postings have at least a modicum of dopefer content?

I have nothing (doepfer) for sale at the moment, so these questions are
purely for clarity for the future.

Rgds

Pierre

I am not Bakis and no moderator of this group and I don't think Bakis
appreciates a written "etiquette", but he likes some gentlemen like
behaviour. So my best try is...:

This is what I do, because it is usually better to sell to known people.
Also it is a sign of kindness, to give the first chance to the closer
circle of the group.

This is okay for me, if the seller gives a single hint for the auction,
and if he announces it clearly as ebay auction.

If the offered goods are in relation to the usage of doepfer, I think it
is ok (I offered effect units here too).
