I think I finally figured out why the a143-1 has never quite made sense to me. It's putting out an intermittent signal from the mix jack. I confirmed this by mixing the individual envelope signals with my blacet mixer. Is there a contact I can bend to make the jack work more regularly, or will I have to replace the jack? Bryan

Hi Bryan, There is a piece here on measures to take to try and solve jack contact problems http://www.doepfer.de/faq/a100_faq.htm#contact problems though it does say it applied to older jacks/modules (they jack went through a minor design change apparently) - there might be some mileage in trying it though! I'd recommend to replace the jack. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

Dear Members, I'd like to invite you to our booth booth no. 5.1 C 67 in hall 5 next week in Frankfurt. We will show all the news we have announced on our website and maybe some more prototypes (e.g. a miniature edition of Schaltwerk as an economically priced module). As there is still a lot that has to be finished I'll be rather occupied with the Messe preparation during the next few days. I'll be not able to track the messages of the group. I ask you to be patient until im back from the Musikmesse and a short one-week vacation after the show. If you have urgent technical questions you may ask Matthias Marass (keyboards/at/doepfer/dot/de) or Christian Assall (software/at/doepfer/dot/de). They will stay in the company. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

Yes, they should have the sockets available as spare parts. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

Hi folks, a bit of self promotion for ya: my group's heavily eurorack/analogue based album "Let's Make a Solar System" was finally released today on vinyl only, samples are here: http://www.iniitu.net/discography_ini_itu.htm Home Planitarium http://www.iniitu.net/mp3/twinkle-tk03.mp3 features Sequentix P3 creating happy analog bleeping and gurgling - along with a (real) hawiaan guitar of course! :) synths used are AS/Doepfer eurorack, Andromeda and Akai VX600 if anyone's interested this is what the record label has to say about it: "ini.itu is proud to release the first LP composed by Twinkle³. From the first sinuous tones, later augmented by a well-integrated mixture of acoustic instruments ( shakuachi, tremoloa, hang drum ), analog sequencing, processing and buchla lightning infra red wizardry, they sketch a (solar) system of their own, revolving around recurring themes, presented in various dispositions. At times nervous, lively, enthusiastically overactive ( but never frenetic ), evoking curious explorers still firmly rooted in melody and dubby basslines, they have the ability to switch off and to glide in an unexpectedly natural manner into more introspective, reflective and soulful moods, even sometimes venturing themselves into darker areas, where a sense of melancholy prevails. A journey from the flowing clear waters depicted in the cover ( picture by Judith Goodman ) to the dark still pool from the flip and back. Even though the comprehension of this album is quite immediate, the astonishing musicality, beauty and complexity of the work allows - and even asks for - repeated listenings. Something to file next to Mouse on Mars' Iahora Tahiti for its freshness, and next to Ornette Colemans' output for its intelligence of interplay, melody and rhythms. The band also cites the great King Sunny Ade, particularly his 70's output, as a real inspiration for this record, notably in the hawaiian guitar department, and in the use of the studio to enhance the spatial dimensions of rhythm." thanks for reading Richard Scott -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter.
