Suggestion: Monsterbase with keyboard

Suggestion: Monsterbase with keyboard

2009-05-19 by Florian Anwander

Hi,

I recently thought about how to rearrange and setup my A100 and came to
the result that I really would like to have something like this:
  http://fa.utfs.org/diy/a100/A100_monster_keyboard_base_suggestion.jpg
I am not an artist in photoshop'ing (the dimensions are completely
wrong), but I think, you will see what I mean.

Would anyone of you appreciate this?

Florian

Hello Florian,

have you seen this before?

- it's been part of their line for many years now.

Best,
Andreas.

Looks like a less pretty version of the AS Sorceror but I suppose the
benefit is it's in a flight case.

Out of interest, how many Monster Base owners on this list take them
out of the studio for gigs?

Yes I know it. Also I could build some wood housing like this without a
problem, but I want it for usage on stage. So it must be in a
flightcase. But building flightcases is a completely different job than
making a simple wooden case.

We are working on such a special version of the monster base with keyboard.
The problem is that on the TP/7 keybed would fit into the case. The keys of
the keybeds we prefer (TP/8 or TP/9) are longer than the height of the A-100
modules and the keybed could not be mounted in an easy way. The quality of
the TP/7 is a bit poor from my point of view (it's the cheapest keybed
available from Fatar) and I do not want to use it only because it fits to
the case.

As nobody was asking so far this project has no priority but I'd like to
have such a monster base myself and will try to find a solution. I'll have
to visit our case manufacturer and ask him if he has an idea. He knows much
better what is possible and which mechanical parts can be used to integrate
a keybed and modules into the same row.

Best wishes

This would be ace, especially if you could choose the number of octaves on the keyboard and thereby allow space to put different module combinations on the bottom row, e.g. pitch wheels (like those depicted) plus a joystick or maybe have modules on both the left & right of the keyboard.
