Module Selection for New A100 Mini System

Module Selection for New A100 Mini System

2002-07-15 by Sebastian Schnitzenbaumer

Hi,

I've just joined this group hoping to get some comments
on the A100 Mini system module configuration.

I'm definitely going to order a system, I guess I just want
to hear from some existing users that the standard module
configuration is actually OK, or whether there is any
additional "must have" module I should consider. I'm
planning on extending my system later on anyways, I'm
just wondering what the best initial set is.

I currently use an Akai AX-73 and a Roland D-50 for
electro and house music both in a live performance
set-up (+drums, +bass) and for recording.

I unfortunately can't use the Excel sheet as I am a
non-Microsoft user. BTW, I'd be happy to volunteer
re-writing that module configurator in some accessible
web technology (XML)

Anyways, the A-100 system seems great, I heard a lot
of good things about it and I can't wait until I have my
own A-100 system :-).

Thanks in advance for any comments,

- Sebastian

The Mini Basic System is a pretty tight, cohesive configuration. You
might get a suggestion or two, but not a consensus. I think it would
be difficult to improve on it significantly.

I started with it and expanded from there, after getting a feel for
the A100. It worked out for me.

Hi Sebastian, you have hardly a chance to pick alternative modules
within such a small frame. But I would definitely replace the A145
for a A147. You didn't mention the assigned role of your A100 in your
set up. If your D50 is the leading one and the A100 for more
experimental sounds the A148 would probably the better choice than
the A114. But a S&H sounds very specific so you might find it of
little use. And finally a minority's point of view: If you don't mind
warmer and softer sounds go for the A122. Ilanode--- In

hi list,
i think sebastian should stick with the basic system
as is,because the a145 can go to higher frequencies
than the a147!also,i would suggest to keep his
a114.and as for the filter he will probably want one
of each type in the future...so.....
bakis.
