Interesting to bring that up again.
I was thinking of getting the Plan B version.
But with the situation that company is now in I am not trusting my
money with them.
Maybe Dieter should be listening in on the demand for an ASR?

nothing wrong with the A152 exceopt the real estate it takes up. the 
Plan B one is a much simpler idea and only 4HP

It would not be a problem to release an ASR module but from my point of view
it does not make sense to offer such a module if it's already available from
another manufacturer - unless it has important additional or different
features. It's part of our company philosophy not to offer the same
functionality of a module that is already available from another (alive)
manufacturer. We are a small community of manufacturers and we try not to
spoil to other manufacturer's plans. Only if there are new ideas included in
a design we may develop modules that overlap with the modules from other
manufacturers.

We have an digital 8 step ASR available as a prototype (digital means that
we use an ADC and eight DACs to output the delayed eight voltages,
optionally quantized outputs with semitone steps with 1V/oct scaling) but
never finished the module because we did not expect sufficient sales. The
ASR prototype was developed in parallel to the A-152 module some years ago.

case I suspect it is just a matter of time before its not really 
relevant. The only ASR in euro at the moment does not even come with 
reliable QC or an effective warranty and many users will be put off by 
this and other Plan B horror tales, depressingly documeted here:

For me this is especially frustrating as Peter from Plan B took money 
from me after I bought an module (advertised on this very list!) that 
without explanation was never delivered or refunded. So I really can't 
buy his ASR or anything else.

However if Plan B manufacturer chooses to commit commercial suicide I 
agree that its better for them to do it by themselves than Dopefer 
contributing to their problems. Sorry to drag it in here, but its very 
relevant to the original question.

Me too. You'd have to be mad to buy direct from Plan B after all 
that's happened recently. It's such a shame since some of the modules 
are fantastic. Let's hope the poor guy get's his business back on 
track.

I think the last sentence is affecting Dieter too: As long there is no 
official "shopp is closed" statment from Plan B, as long Plan B (vulgo 
Peter G.) should have a chance to get back to his business, and this 
chance should not be spoiled by selling concurrent products.

And btw, though I am not a moderator or something like that: Please do 
not repeat the discussion about Peter G. here. People whoe are 
interested in it, may read this in the archives of other forums like 
muffwiggler or Analogue Heaven.
