Using an A192 with a Seqencer

Using an A192 with a Seqencer

2009-08-19 by stuadh

Yes,

I, too, fell for it. I bought an A192 hoping to use it to record sequencer patterns, like it says in the user manual, but it turns out that you can't record Note on/off data, so it doesn;t seem to be much use.

Now, I know the A192-2 is coming out sometime, but I'd like to know if anyone knows how to set-up the A192 to somehow be usable as a sequence recorder within Logic? I have the Pocket Editor programme, although I'm still trying to work it out.

Yours Aye

Transform the data in Logics environment in realtime (either while
recording or in playback).

hello stuadh,

as a counterpart of the discontinued a191, the a192 is
designed to convert control voltages into midi controller
data, it cannot process note/gate information.
if you want to do something like that you have to design
an environment in logic that transforms the data.
i cannot tell you how to do it best and if it is practical
anyway, but i think it is possible. it's been many years
ago since i messed around with data transformation in logic,
i simply have forgotten all the tricks.

best wishes

ingo

OK, thanks. Thinking Cap on because I'm rubbish at the Environment page in Logic. I generally avoid meddling because I just don't get it. In fact, I don;t even know how I got my current set up to work...it just does. Or is that, it does, just?

Thanks,

Stuadh
