Doepfer

I bought a Doepfer DIY #1 kit used recently that came with a Digitrax 3A 15V Power Adapter. the seller was using it with 4 84HP rows without issue.

My question is, does this mean the Doepfer DIY #1 PSU is putting out more than the rated 1200ma? is it now putting out 3000ma?

I am hoping to to also use it with 4 rows and would love to have a clear idea of how much power I have to work with.

divide the power adaptor voltage by 2 (half for +12, half for -12)

oops. should have read divide the power adaptor max current (3A) by 2.

Hey there,

I think you bought it from me!.  I have exactly the same kit & Adapter
running my current set up (although now only 2 1/2 rows after selling
to get the Continuum).
Works like a dream, the Digitrax are great adapters.

Thanks Sandy and Richard. I will treat it as 1500ma of available power. One of my rows is a A155/A154 combo so I should be good running 4 rows off of this thing. Time to do some more drilling and soldering! 

And yes, I did buy the kit off of Richard - thanks again!

The power supply of the A-100DIY kit #2 is specified for a maximum output
current of 1200 mA. Even if a transformer with a higher current is used the
1200 mA are the upper limit because of the used supply regulators and heat
sinks !
