Hey folks, I recently bought a A-100P9 but was quite surprised to find that the finish is textured instead of smooth like my monster and A-100P6 cases. Anyone else have this textured finish on their recently purchased P9s or was my case just one of a small manufacturing run? Any idea if the plain/smooth finish cases will still be available? Kindest regards, John

They have buyed up all of this wood type they could get. But since a few weeks the stock is used up and they told us that there is no chance to get the old version. This is why during a transitional period both wood versions (even and grained) may be delivered. Thereafter only the grained version will be available. All A-100 suitcase versions are affected: the standard suitcaese with 6 and 9 U (A-100P6, A-100P9), the monster base (A-100PMB) and all monster cases with 6, 9 or 12 U(A-100PMS6/9/12). In the future we will stock only the A-100P6, A-100P9, A-100PMB and the 9U single monster case (A-100PMS9). The A-100PMS9 has the best cost/performance ratio of all monster cases. The other monster cases will be still available but not held in stock (about 4-6 weeks delivery time). Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year Best wishes Dieter Doepfer

Does anyone have a picture of this new texture that they can post? Just curious what it will look like next to the four older cases I already have. -James James Husted www.synthwerks.com james@synthwerks.com synthwerks@me.com

i have one old and one new a100P9 cases. the difference is no big deal... they look nice close to each other and not really different. you have to be very near the case to see the different finish. the colour, of course, is completely the same (black)... thanks, Bakis. Thanks for your feedback, Dieter. Personally, I much prefer the non-grained finish, but it looks like those days are drawing to a close. Kindest regards, John

I have a P9 (grained) and a P6 (smooth) that I can take pictures of. I'll try and upload them later this evening, just for reference. Kindest regards, John

For anyone that's interested, I've uploaded pictures of both the smooth and grained case finishes with an additional side-by-side comparison. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Doepfer_a100/photos/album/763015809/pic/list Kindest regards, John
