engraved eurorack panels for DIY modules

2011-03-07 by Julian

Im testing out a new idea with eurorack blanks, which, im hoping, some people here might be interested in...

I have a selection of blanks, and the idea is that, no matter what you want on the panel (assuming its possible!) ill engrave it for
a flat rate fee.

There are catches though -

*no drilling, other than the mounting holes
*only one infill colour
*only one cutter type
*limited number of blanks availible

Im really trying this out as i found a load of blanks on the shelf, and, if i cut them on my small machine (which cant do routing at
all) then i thought i might be able to do them at a more attractive price than people are used to paying?

Anyhow, some more details, photos etc. are here -

Im also getting arround to launching a quick and cheap pcb service too, so that may, in the future, go hand in hand with this
project?

Thank you,
Julian

>>What widths do you have?

Hi David,

They are listed on the page, but, in case you cant see it (at work etc) -

Matt Blue12hp
Matt Blue12hp
Matt Blue10hp
Matt Blue10hp
Matt Blue10hp
Matt Blue10hp
Matt Black8hp
Gloss Blue8hp
Gloss Blue8hp
Gloss Blue8hp
Gloss Blue4hp

I have a load of silver somewhere also, but i will have to dig them out. I guess this was partially 'testing the water' to see if
it was a popular concept / if the pricing was resonable / etc. I think the other companies charge about GBP 25 for a 4hp panel -
even my12hp (3x as wide) that ive listed above are priced at less than that : )

(but, its not quite like for like, as, you would have to drill all but the mounting holes yourself, but most DIY sorts will find
that easy enough)

The idea is for it to be a quick and cheap service, but, obviously, if i start charging too little, it would get to the point where
i should do somthing else instead!
