Is there any change on making a Doepfer 1x 8-step sequencer for the A100 systems like the Plan B Milton model 21c ??? I find the A-155 is taking to much space.

And another exotisch one: http://www.makenoisemusic.com/RENE.html But I think Zoë arduino based one is a real charm. I am trying to figure out if it can be made into a product. Question for Zoë: is it expandable to more steps? GreetZ to all, Ton --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Martin Klang <mars@...> wrote:

10hp algorithmic gate sequencer, up to 32 steps! http://www.rebeltech.org/modules/stoicheia/ /m

I've been wondering the same thing myself. :D > Question for Zoë: is it expandable to more steps? Yes, the 16 steps are pretty arbitrary. Nina and I are still working out what would be the best interface for it (digitally controlled tempo, pattern length, pattern selection and copying/pasting/transposing/rotating, and entering notes, rests, slides and accents). I don't like the idea of scrolling or layers of menus, so it'll either be buttons and LEDs and potentially up to hundreds of steps, or buttons and a single big LCD and up to 16 steps, all visible on-screen at once. It should be pretty easy to implement DIN sync in and out too, plus make an eight channel drum machine version, so it could be a really neat set of devices. We're hoping to at least make a kit available, maybe in the form of an Arduino shield at least, but it depends how much interest there is. I'm hoping to eventually work my way up to a fully fledged multi-channel step sequencer with a few different channels of pitched notation, drums and tempo synced LFOs... but I tend to run away with ideas quite a bit! All the best, Zoë.

Ah, that's great news! I won't be in your way. The more steps the merrier for my part ;-) A multi-channel one for starters, designed with the 'run away ideas' in mind, it will be than! You have my full support. Keep up the good work you two wizards ;-) --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, Zoë Blade <zoe@...> wrote:

I have to admit, that I find 8-steps always too limited. The least minimal phrase I can stand with is a 4/4 bar with 16th notes, vulgo a 16step sequencer (more would be better). I could imagine a modular sequencer, which consists of an adress generator (like the A154), and various chainable module. E.g two 8-step modules which can be played either A-B or A-A-A-B. Also there could be several kinds of modules like switches for gate/trigger, potentiometers for non tonal cv, 12position switches for tonal cv's. etc pp. Florian
