RE: [Doepfer_a100] MORE INFO FROM DOEPFER ABOUT THE NEW SEQ CONTROLLER !!!

Hi Bakis,

Nice to see a good response from Dieter on this, some interesting
options.

I love the idea of CV mode selection and agreed it would need a basic
display. I would like to see for quick changes on the fly, 3-4 buttons
marked forwards, back, both1 & both2 (if more than one pendulum mode)
would be most useful.

Regards

CONTROLLER !!!

	DIETER SAYS:
" Concerning the new A-155 controller it would be
	important for us
which kind of "user interface" the members prefer.
E.g. the type of running mode
	selection

	a) manual control by a rotary switch
	b) manual control with up/down buttons
	b) controlled with up/down inputs (each pulse selects
	the next running mode)
	c) voltage controlled
	d) separate clock inputs for clock forward and clock
	backward instead of one of
	the selection modes above
	or
	e) only one clock input and another (digital) input to
	select the direction
	up/down

All these selection types are alternative (i.e. they
	exclude one another). We
need to know which is the prefered way to select the
	running mode. I think that
the voltage controlled selection is the best way (with
	manual control and CV
	input with attenuator, e.g. 0...1V = forward / 1...2V
	= backward / 2...3V =
	pendulum 1 / 3...4V = pendulum 2 / 4...5V = voltage
	controlled adressing of the
sequencer step. But this would exclude the possibility
	of separate clocks for up
and down as desired by some users.
And in case of voltage controlled mode selection or
	selection with up/down
buttons or inputs: which is the best order of the
	different running modes that
correspond to the control voltage (maybee different
	orders that are programmed
by the user - a bit like the filter orders for the
	A-107). And I think a display
of the selected running mode is necessary for voltage
	controlled mode selection.
And which running modes are necessary (2 different
pendulum modes like MAQ ? One
	Shot ? ...)
How about a voltage controlled clock source integrated
	into the new sequencer
	controller ?

A lot of questions, I know. But there are so many
	possibilities to built a new
sequencer controller and we need to know which
	features and which "user
	interface" the members would prefer.

	Kind regards

SO,I'LL PROBABLY MAKE A POLL ABOUT THE VARIOUS
POSSIBLE FEATURES OF THIS NEW SEQ CONTROLLER,OK??
	BAKIS.
