@Dieter,
Are you planning two different versions of this module or are you just not out of which one will be released?
Cheers,

After playing around with the module and the comments of people who tried
the prototype we are no longer sure if we will release the A-101-6. The
circuit is a bit complex (especially because of the filter mode switching
which requires altogether about 20 electronic double-throw switches) and
consequently the module will be a bit expensive. And the FETs generate a lot
of distortion in the sound as they are not linear circuits (like the
vactrols). I think we will do some sound examples and then ask interested
customers if they are willing to pay the price. Maybe we offer a lower
priced version of the module (< Euro 100) with jumpers instead of the
electronic switches. In this case the user will be able to configure the
module by means of the jumpers as lowpass, highpass or allpass.

Best wishes

A little bit off-topic, but can I propose a new module that is basically 4hp and has 8 toggle switches and 8 LEDs to show switch state with 8 flying leads to connect to the back of modules' jumpers. There are so many modules with hidden jumper functions that this would be a very useful addition.j

I think that is a very easy DIY-Module.

Yeah right....;-)

For summer 2014 the A-127 breakout module is (BOM) planned. This expansion module offers these new functions:

    * additional notch filter for each sub-unit
    * separate outputs for lowpass, highpass, bandpass and notch for each sub-unit
    * separate audio input with attenuator for each sub-unit

The breakout module allows the separate use of each of the three A-127 filters. In addition the filters can be patched parallel or serial. Especially the serial connection of three notches generates very complex phasing-like structures. For parallel filter connection the existing mixer of the main module may be used or an external mixer. For serial connection the filters are patched in the desired sequence at the breakout module. A jumper is used to define the filter type for each sub-unit for the mix unit of the main module.

Remark : The breakout module can be used without modification only in combination with the new version of the A-127 (pcb printing "Version 4"). Only the new version has the expansion connector available, that is required to connect the breakout module. It's also possible to combine the breakout module with older versions of the A-127 (versions 1, 2 and 3) but in this case soldering is required to connect the breakout module to the main module (soldering 4 wires to each filter unit). We will publish corresponding modification instructions as soon as the breakout module will be available.

Price: about Euro 65.00

Especially the serial connection of three notches generates very complex phasing-like structures. For parallel filter connection the existing mixer of the main module may be used or an external mixer. For serial connection the filters are patched in the desired sequence at the breakout module. A jumper is used to define the filter type for each sub-unit for the mix unit of the main module.

No offence taken. Your reply was very succinct. It is more a warning about acronyms than anything else, they can lead to confusion.

AW: AW: [Doepfer_a100] A-101-6

2014-05-26 by yahoo@doepfer.de

It's the abbreviation for breakout module, i.e. a module that expands the
features of an existing module - in this case for the A-127 triple filter.

Best wishes
