A-154 clock

A-154 clock

2015-02-25 by kazys varnelis

Hi everyone! Good to be here. I'm a big admirer of Doepfer and the Eurorack system, having started with a Dark Energy about this time last year and now moving into my third rack, a LCB to sit under two LC9s full of modules (gulp!).

I hava an A-154 and A-155 and I am wondering about the clock knob on the A-154. Is it exponential or linear? My knob seems to move quite slowly until around 1 or 2pm when it speeds up very rapidly, precisely at the point where I would like to choose my speed. The hyper-sensitivity of the control at that point is a problem for me. Is there some way to adjust it apart from sending the unit another clock signal?

Mine behaves exactly the same way so I’m guessing it’s not a fault. I’ve learned to live with it though!

The potentiometer is linear and outputs a linear changing control voltage. But to speak the truth I don't know how Christian
converts the voltage into the clock frequency. He programmed the A-154 firmware. Probably he uses a look-up table (or a formula) but
I'm not sure. Please contact him directly for details: software@doepfer.de

Best wishes
