Template for A-176 faceplate

Template for A-176 faceplate

2016-04-03 by thomas_escure@yahoo.fr

Hello,

As I'm modifying my A-176s more and more, I will have to replace the faceplates.

Is there anybody who I could ask for a template for making my own panel ?

What I need exactly is the placement of the holes for jacks and pots.

Thank you in advance,

Regards,

Thomas

Hi

Schaeffer AG have ‘Front Panel Designer’. You just design the panel yourself, send the file and a great panel comes back. I have used this a dozen times and it’s great.

Stu

Thank you Stuart for your reply.

I've used Schaeffer services several times too, but what I need is an exact info for the placement of jacks and pots holes. I would not like to make something approximate, as I don't want to stress the solder joints while screwing the electromechanical components to the panel...

Regards,

Thomas

ehmmm maybe a stupid remark, but since you have the module yourself: measure maybe?

You could even use a scanner, rescale the image so the dimensions of the panel are consistent with real life (if not already to scale), then trace on a different layer and eventually remove the original image leaving just the trace. Print and compare to real life. I've done this when I've had an old pcb flex and crack and the manufacturer has not existed for decades and it was surprisingly easy.

Thank you for your replies.

About measuring : unfortunately I have a hard time trying to be sure about the exact distances. What's sure is that it has to be more precise than half a millimetre. I do not have tools that are precise enough.

About scanning and rescaling... I could do that (and already did in the past for other gear), but if someone (Mr Dieter Doepfer perhaps ?) could give the exact dimensions, that would be far better, more precise and faster...
