hello bakis,

maybe dieter should also purchase an
analogue solutions sy02 filter for comparison
and take a look at their efforts. they did
really well with the sy02, but dieter can sure
make some improvements like vc of resonance and
the rest of those nasty things you already
mentioned below.

there is another filter i would appreciate, because
it is totally unavailable. i'm speaking of the vintage
yamaha multimode filters. they are a bit weak, but
very creamy and soft. the sound is significantly
different compared with the cem3320 based filters.
the yamaha is (like the korg) made with custom chips.
the slope is 12db for highpass and lowpass and
6db for the bandpass. a long time ago i owned an
yamaha cs20m and i can still remember those creamy
sweeps. but i sold the cm20m because the rest was crap.

best wishes

another filter

2003-03-24 by jmaddocks1975

Hi,
The Korg MS20 filter is easily one of my favourites, you can
recognise it anywhere. That is the reason I bought the Analogue
Solutions SY02 (and an MS10), this filter is so close to the korg.

Dieter has mentioned a few times that he doesn't see the point in
making modules that are being made by other companies, AS already
make it. My opinion is don't waste time and money making this filter
when you could be making something new like the A107 or chaos
module. I don't think I'll buy one even if you do put new CV inputs
on it, but probably everyone else will and be your best selling
module :-D

People have asked before and I am now agreeing with them, how about
a new VCO?
Doepfer have about 14 filters and only 2 VCO's, one of which is
close to extinction (a111).

What about a new style ADSR, like the korgs have 'Break Point'
and 'slope' on their old ones.

I'm sure this will cause a discussion :-D

John.

Hell yeah, the Yamaha filters sound really sweet. They had an old CS5 at
my school, and the filters was the best thing on this machine. No idea if
one can compare them to the filters of the CS80.
Just checked the MOTM leaflet and saw that they also have a Yamaha
filter ("MOTM-480 resonant filter" that is). Anybody tried it?

cheers,
Paul

hello paul,

really, motm is doing a yamaha clone? i didn't know that.
i'll take a closer look at it, but i don't want to
raise another modular ;-)
aaaarrrggghhh where is all the money gone?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
