Nice one Andreas. With inverters as well.

We'll have that attenuator module if we're sneaky enough.

Kevin

I am all for it if comes with some kind of attenuator as in the some of the
designs that are posted on the site. But if it that easy I don't see any
harm in Doepfer whipping together someting fast that is a pure VU-meter too.
I am in favour of a digital since that wobbly needle kind of display never
gives me any real information.

hi andreas,
i prefer a vintage looking needle display(like the
vcs3 or the AS meter!).i think that this meter also
gives good results,not very precise,though...

VU-meter and attentuator

2003-05-05 by Andreas Lindholm

The reason that I favour the mixed module so much is because you could (as
proposed in my last design-sketch) attenuate a signal to the desired level
while monitoring it. Very precis and efficient (best with digital dispaly
;). That would make it far more useful than just telling you how much your
signal is "off track" without means of easy adjustment.

Still something is better than nothing(but not enough to make me buy
anything;)

Re: VU-meter and attentuator

This module is exactly what i posted on my diy website!
costs next to nothing to make and easy, needs no power just
soldering. Making it backlit is again very easy.
I`ve made 2 of them for less than 20pounds, so if doepfer want to
sell them they have to be very cheap or offer something special for
me to buy.
