1st time & a199

1st time & a199

2003-08-05 by Gdaluz

Hi people,
I´m new in the mailing list and I need some help because my a-199 outputs an extra undesirable noise.
I tried to fix the tank inside the rack-no way, outside(on the rack wall) it works better, sometimes so so and others the same problem.
               Thanks
                                 Guilherme.

hi guilherm,
welcome to the group!i don't wanna dissapoint you
about the a199 ,but, also, both of my a199's have
this"ubndesirable noise"too...i have also mounted them
outside the a100 rack.so,i don't think that anything
else can be done about it.you have to live with it.
now,if dieter has any other comments or solutions to

I was thinking of getting one or two of these the next time I order some
modules so I'm curious what kind of a noise it is? A hissy noise or a
humming/buzzing noise from grounding issues?

fyi: many, many spring reverbs suffer from noise/hum. They are VERY
susceptible to it. I don't have an a-199, but my orban spring hums if it's
in my rack but doesn't if it's elsewhere away from other things.
so this noise is most likely a problem with most spring 'verbs, I think the
Accuverb from accutronics claimed to shield from this.
best,
phil

hello bakis,

my a199 spring is mounted inside the frame (left upper corner)
and i don't have noise problems, since i moved the frame to
the top position of the system.

best wishes

ingo

Re: 1st time & a199

hello bakis,

i remember that the first time i mounted my a199,
i had much more hum than i have now.
it seems that it is not only the springtank position inside
the frame, it is also the position inside the room itself.
when i moved the frame around in the studio during reinstallment
of the modular, the noise disappeared, but i haven't changed
anything inside the frame. ok, there is still some noise right
now, but much less than before.

best wishes

ingo
