Doepfer

Hey all,

Just posting about progress I've made on the Schaltwerk OS changes I 
proposed awhile ago...  if anyone remembers, I'm working on adding 
new features to the schaltwerk OS.

It's good to be making progress after staring at 8051 assembly 
language for over a year!

I've posted a DivX video (3.5MB) of the rotate track function in 
action:

Seems like noone is too interested in new features for the 
Schaltwerk?  I thought at least Ringmod would speak up. :(

Some people couldn't view the DivX format video, so I put up a new 
WMV format video of the Schaltwerk demonstrating a track rotating to 
the right.

After the track rotate function is finished, I will add a 
pattern "auto save" so patterns will save themselves when switching 
to a new pattern.  Then a "note tie" feature to allow for long notes 
to be programmed.

Hey, I am very interested in it and would certainly like these 
features on mine. 

Any improvements to the Schaltwerk are most welcome, particularly as 
Doepfer don't seem interested in developing it any further.......

Hi Ripe,

Glad to hear things are working on the OS. I've pretty exhausted 
everyone and myself with this Schaltwerk bizniz. if you need some 
help with beta testing and putting it through it's paces, I wouyld be 
more  thean happy to assist you. Email me in private.

I must say that I am tickled pink with the new P3 sequencer from 
Colin Frasier. Have a look at this URL

this is where my head's at right now. Bring on the tied notes.

You may find some inspiration for your OS. I wish you all the best 
and keep us posted. I am holding on to the Schaltwerk until I try 
your OS, hopefully it does what it should have done properly in the 
first place.

Hell no, I'm interested! I looked at the schaltwerk before but 
decided not to take it because of the slack it got in several groups. 
Looks like a big step forward. I'm still waiting what others have to 
say about it.

Price is an issue though. Considering the seeming lack of support 
you'd expect it to get cheaper.

And I'm waiting to combine the new nord G2 with my setup and I don't 
know what that one has got in terms of sequencing. (hmmmm)

Any further comments group?

Thanks RM and everyone.  I will continue working on features.  

It is frustrating knowing that Doepfer could add these features 
easily, but they don't seem interested. It took me 2 days to add the 
rotate function, about 80 lines of assembly code, and I don't have 
the source code!

I will look at adding a swing function, but it will be a little more 
difficult figuring out how to implement it correctly.

I'll post again when I have more news.
