the A132 IS(!!!) FOR CV SIGNALS...

2002-01-25 by bakis Sirros

hi list,and florian,
as dieter just told me the a132 vca is designed for cv
signals.so,he told me that i should delete the poll
about vca's for cv signals as it doesn't really make
sense...

Nice try;-)

But the A132 needs additionally modules in the value of 100 EuR and more ,
to be equivalent to a A131 with an additional simple switch (costs maybe
1,20 EUR) which bypasses the Capacitor in the signal path.

I don't see the A-132 as the module I am requesting in the poll.
Am I the only one, who is doing so simple things as keboard dependent
envelope amount? You need a offset voltage for this. The A-132 does not
provide a offset voltage, so I need a fixed Voltage source and a
voltage mixer for the CV-In of the A-132....

Kind regards, Florian

(PS: I will try to call Dieter the next week, but I am on tour for my company, so it might be difficult).

I frequently use the A132 to control envelope intensity, e.g. by note
velocity, (as well as for many other things). Yes, I need to patch the
A176 to the A132 to supply an offset voltage, but the A132 has a
built-in voltage mixer for this (two CV inputs).

As I said in an earlier post, I don't believe in struggling to get by
without having something so basic as a triple CV source.

I was dissapointed when I discovered that the A131 doesn't work in
this role, thanks for clearing up the mystery of why this is so. I
think the module you propose would be desireable.

hello list,
as dieter doepfer has, also, told me the new versions of
the a130/a131 vca's WORK for audio AND cv
signals!!!so,i don't think that the module proposed by
florian is necessary.(about the new versions:the older
vca's:the a130 and the a131 were using a curtis chip
that is now expensive for doepfer to get.so they have
redesign the vca's and now these two vca's don't use
this chip.that's why they have a different sound and
can be overloaded.these new vca's are"version 2,2001"
the a132 dual vca hasn't change.
