Hi Bakis,

I agree, in fact I would prefer a 3U 84hp panel version because most of my modules reside in a custom wooden cabinets 168hp wide.

If the unit is 19" rack standard, then 3U would be my preference, it also means that the panel does not have to be cramped, very important for a performance controller. You what precision if using it live and worry about hitting several keys etc just because it is tightly packed and has patch cables hanging in front of the keys etc.

Regards

David

hi david,
i would, also, prefer the sensor keyboard to be in the form of a 3u
rack...the keyboard would be better not to stick out of the box, too!!
this way would be easier to put it under your existing a100
frames, don't you think??also,3u racks are better as they match the
a100rack standards(3u or 6u...).opinions,please??

Re: about the sensor keyboard...

re sensor keyboard, seems to me if it's rackmounted, adjustable
rack ears would be most advantageous for everyone, especially
considering the nonstandard shape of such a device as this.
something as simple as removable ears and multiple mounting
holes (on the side of the unit) which would allow mounting the
unit at different angles/depths within a rack would kill several
birds w one stone. this simple idea has worked very well with
sherman's unusually-shaped filterbank. it lets the user decide
what works best.

I, for one, wouldn't want rackmounting to be the default option on
this sensor keyboard; my Doepfer modules are all in portable
suitcases, so I'd want it to be something I could put on the table
next to them and play.

Thats my opinion, too. But the sensor keyboard should be mountable in a rack with additional rack "ears" , like in the Access Virus for example.
