Hi Tim,

That's a good observation and may be one of the reasons that the number of participants who enter discussion is limited to the same people.

The list members are very helpful, some very knowledgeable (esp Florian). Never be afraid to ask if you don't understand.

It will probably be a good idea to ask Bakis to provide a short explanation with each poll, to help bring everyone up to at least a basic level of understanding.

How about it Bakis? I would be happy to submit a short explanation for any polls I think of.

My main problem with the polls (I have voted in a few of them) is lack
of info about what they are about: what is a VACTROL whatever?; what
is so special about the EMS filter?; what is a granular processor?;
and so on etc. I would probably vote in a few more of them if I knew
what I was voting for (or against)!!!!!!!

o.k.,david i agree....please submit any info you can
think of for any poll,and i'll submit my
explanations,too.....but i don't think that i have
anything new to add...i will only try to find the
messages in which some of the modules of the polls are
explained....for example i have already sent info
about the vactrol phaser/filter ,in fact,direct from
dieter himself....also,the ems filter is described in
the doepfer site.also,i have already sent a message
with a link to the buchla chaos generator.,and,as for
the granular proccessor,i will try to find some info
to add,o.k.??if you already know some things,please
help!!the thing that i know for a fact is that in
granular synthesis a sample is divided in many,many
short pieces,that can be played back in random
order,or something like that...this thing you can
already do with the a112 wavetable osc.,though...but
in granular synthesis you can do some other
things,too...i'll try to find some info to post to the
list...
