New poll for Doepfer_a100

2002-02-23 by Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com

Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
Doepfer_a100 group:

I don't know if this has been polled
before, but I'd like some real stats on
this. Have you encountered any Jack
issues in your A100? And to what
extent? This crops up often on other
forums as a criticism of Doepfer, and
heard horror stories, but I personally
have just had one jack go bad after two
years of Doepfers. Lets here how yours
are holding up!

o Never had a jack issue ever
o Maybe one or two bad jacks, but everything wears out over time
o A handful of bad Jacks, at the point of being irritating (maybe less than one every fifth module)
o More bad jacks than I would have expected from a quality unit (one every other module)
o Many too many bad jacks - really a weak point in the A100 Design (like one per module)

Re: [Doepfer_a100] New poll for Doepfer_a100

Just answered the new poll, but think it need some explanation.

I have never had a jack go bad and I bought my oldest modules at the very
beginning so the must be like 7 years old. On the other hand I haven't been
patching that intensive. Done a patch or two, then perhaps nothing for a
month and so on. But I have experienced that 3 out of 40 cables has gone
bad, broken somewhere and that is also an ugly thing to track down in a big
patch.
