Alternative cases

Alternative cases

2005-08-30 by metro_under_ground

Sorry to overload you with questions but I have two quick questions I need
help with.

Does anybody know if it is possible to mount Doepfer modules into a
FracRac?

http://www.paia.com/fracrak.htm

Also does anyone know of any shorter racks than the 19" 84HP standard as
there is no way I am going to fill 84 HP with the filters I intend to buy.

Basically if I can find a cheap alternative case to which I can attach either the
standard or mini Doepfer power supply that would be great.

Thanks for your help

hello,

the paia mounting holes do not correspond
with the doepfer mounting holes.

analogue solutions and schneiders buero offer smaller
cases than 84 hp. here are the url's:

http://www.analoguesolutions.com
http://www.schneidersbuero.de

maybe you have to email them about availability/prices.

best wishes

Not without re-drilling the doepfer pannels with different holes. Isnt the
frac-rack stuff often 15v, or have i got that wrong?

Possibly if you buy piece parts and make up your own case (search on
farnell.com) , but im unaware of any from the synth world.

If you only want a real few modules, its easy enough to screw into wood,
providing you dont keep moving the modules arround - have you considered
searching for a suitable wooden box. Somthing like a wooden CD storage
module, with extra rails glued along the top and bottom edge would work
(just an idea)

The swedish company: the synthesize network:
http://www.analogue.org/network/frames24.htm
has a small case for Doepfer modules - you will find it on their
site. Click on: modular systems
then: Basicsystems and pictures
then: the bumble bee.
You can find a pic at my photo folder: Studio1dk

Thanks for all of the helpful suggestions so far...any other recommendations
would be greatfully received, especially for smaller than 84HP racks.

The farnell site looks really impressive but as Im new to racks I have no idea
how to pick one. Would this one be ok for mouting doepfer modules.

Thank you greatly.

Having read an earlier post recommending buerklin.com I was impressed but
has anybody actually used their cases to mount Doepfer modules?

To be able to afford modules I need a cheap case and wondered if this would
fit doepfer modules and a power supply

70H919

I know it is only 42HP wide but as a full 19" rack is too large I'm ok with that.
If anyone can tell me if this case will fit doepfer modules from personal
experience I can start giving Dieter some of my money.

Thanks
