Doepfer

hi,

  does anyone know of a soft version of an analogue sequencer?  I'm 
especially interested in one that might work within Logic (Audio Unit).  I'd likel 
to have a shot of using one without the expence of a module, to see I I like 
them.  At the moment, I can't see anything that an A-155 can do that I can't 
already do in Logic.  However, I do appreciate that a traditional sequencer 
offers a different way of working.  So, are there any sequencer simulators out 
there that will do the job?

You'd have to use rewire, but there is really nothing like Numerology.

also, Reaktor or Reason, will give you a taste. Even try Ultrabeat already
in Logic.

well, the A-155 with the A-154 will do a lot. You can even use it as
multi-stage envelope, and with mod in for each step, things can get insane.
Really depends on what you want to do, but even if you don't use the 155 as
a seq. it becomes an amazingly flexible mod source, with other modules the
possibilities become endless.  I don't think you could go wrong with it,
once you try it you'll find so many uses for it, even if analog seq don't
fit your style of music.

Just a heads up, you may want to periodically check the battery in the A-112
for leakage/corrosion.  As I was moving modules around today I noticed the
battery on my a112 was all fuzzy, and should be replaced. My A-112 is
probably around 7 years old.
Maybe the Doepfer distributors carry this battery?  if not should they? not
sure how common it is.

Is the battery even needed?  That is, if you don't care about it storing the
sample? easy way to remove and bypass it?

oh yes, and this sequencer is not an audio unit,
but i think it can be used to control audio units.
well, i'm still using logic 5.5.1 for pc, so maybe
the newer logic/apple versions have other solutions.
