it in the photos section. i'm just getting my head round it and a few
things are puzzeling me
how does the 'adsr controller' module work?
what are the 'ringen' modules for?
my system has no 'com' modules - what are they?
cheers

Hello Ben,
Welcome to this group.

>how does the 'adsr controller' module work?

It is a module that can automate the ADSRs. Do things like repeat
them, delay them and such. You input keyboard gate signals or LFOs to
trigger them.

>what are the 'ringen' modules for?

Not shure, but probably the ring modulator?

>my system has no 'com' modules - what are they?

It is just an elaborate "output" module, to convert the synth signals
into standard signals for headphones, mixers and stereo systems.

hello tw
i've put some more pics of the modules i cant figure out yet. some of
them are very home made looking! i guess thats the whole point of the
formant though....
any ideas for the 'ringbr' in particular?
btw, i'm very impressed with the over all sound quality of the system
- great big oscillators, warm and powerful filters, snappy envelopes -
its fasntastic!

Nice big system!

cvproc is a CV processor. It is used to invert, shift (relative to
0V), amplify and attentuate CV (control Voltage) signals.

Ring modulator with separate AC and DC coupled inputs.
Two inputs "X" and "Y" are summed and divided, and the result shows
up at the "Z" output. The module is a dual module, with two ring
modulators.

ExtInp is a module for turning external signals (microphones,
guitars, music etc.) into signals that can be used with the Formant
(control signals and gate signals)

sequ-adsr looks like a "COM" module; that is; a VCA with inputs from
an ADSR and a sequencer?

All these are standard modules from book I and II, but with some
twists as to the front panels.
