Ithink I'm going to take it apart and give it a good cleaning and make sure nothing is loose inside (I moved it around today and something was rattling inside) I will also chek the settings you suggested and see if it responds.
I have decided that if it still is acting up I will see about getting it repaired and in the meantime I hope to find one on ebay.
