If you are handy, and you don't want to use the pedal for another keyboard, you can open up the footswith and reverse the 2 wires. You many have to solder them - you can pick a soldering iron for under $10, and make sure to buy good quality solder. I actually took my ensoniq foot switch, and replaced the mechanism with a microswitch (get one from digikey.com) with normally open and normally closed contacts. With a brand new wire, I made a Y where I wired the common and NO contact to one wire to 1/4 inch jack, and the NC and common contact to another wire with 1/4 inch jack. BTW, all the ensoniq footswitch has in it (at least the one that came with my EPS) is a spring loaded wire and a fixed wire. When you press the pedal, the spring loaded wire touches the fixed wire. Cheap and dirty, but it works. Mine finally wore out after 10 years, and that is why I replaced it with a microswitch.
