Yes...
Remove any disks from disk drive.
Put a "SD-1 Formatted" Disk in the drive.
To the right of the display, at the top of the section of buttons under
"System", Press the button "Storage"
Press the black Soft button bellow the display, that is beneath "DISK"
(which is illuminated)
Press a soft button beneath "SAVE", "LOAD" or "DELETE".
If there is a message either saying that "Disk has been Changed 21 voice
enabled" or "Disk has been Changed 32 voice enabled", your SD-1 is
32voice. Otherwise it is likely not.
Also, be aware, if yours is 32voice, when you insert a disk "formatted
from scratch" on an older "21voice" SD-1, or VFX, and press the save,
load, delete, in the storage area, or do anything to make the message
"Disk has been Changed 21 voice enabled", your 32voice SD-1 is limited
to "21voice" until you insert a 32voice formatted disk, and press one of
those buttons, again. You do not have to load any files to the SD-1,
just make it read the disk. Your 21voice project will now be 32voice,
and, so long as you save it to a 32voice formatted disk, it will remain
saved as 32voice, and will play as 32voice, so long as you do not
insert, and read, a 21voice disk.
I personally converted all my old 21voice files to 32voice, although I
had a few crashes in some of the mass conversion, but now, as only
32voice, it only crashes 3 or 4 times a year. Once all your projects are
copied onto 32voice disks, I would reformat all your 21voice disks to
32voice, to avoid accidentally running out of voices, due to
accidentally inserting a 21voice disk.
Good Luck....
Ralph :-)
