SD-1 Fizzles out

2004-11-06 by Michael C Lesko

Hey all,

Ok, this event was interesting. I have been dealing with the overheating
problem of my SD-1 now
when it gets hot the keyboard stops, wants to re-initialize and then goes
blank. I will try to do a hard
restart and it stays dead. After letting it cool for quite a while it will
fire back up and need the sequence
OS reinstalled.

I had pointed a large fan directly at the vents and it kept the keyboard
really cool however the keyboard
did the exact same thing? My question is, besides the heat is there any
other problem that might be
causing this? I also realized that the SD-1 has a fuse in the back. Can
this be related to the fuse? Just
a guess. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Michael
