Greetings
Hans,
Yes, I have downloaded the Demo
Songs you mentioned some time ago. However, on the original disks provided with
the VFX-SD and the SD-1 were Demo Songs generated by Ensoniq. The VFX-SD disk
had two Demo Songs and the SD-1 disk had one Demo Song. I have converted the
three songs into MP3 files. They are sized as follows:
VFX-SD Demo Song #1 - 2.0 Meg
(2.09 minutes)
VFX-SD Demo Song #2 - 2.1 Meg
(2.12 minutes)
SD-1 Demo Song - 3.1 Meg (3.20
minutes)
I tried uploading them to the
file section as I mentioned a few weeks ago but there wasn't enough storage
space available. A lot of folks who have purchased these two synthesizers
second-hand never had access to the original disks. I thought they might like to
have these songs.
Tell you what.....I just
uploaded VFX-SD Demo Song #1 in the "File" section in the "Demos" folder. I will
leave it there for one week for folks to download and then I will replace it
with the next one since we have limited space. If it causes any storage problems
in the meantime, let me know and I will remove it
immediately.
Take
Care,
Alan

plenty of space.

I wonder why you didn't realize that the Demo Songs are already there.
Maybe you got new ones? Here's what I found on the three demo carts and
downloaded one and a half years ago:

Betreff: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] New Ensoniq Related Site Proposal
Ensoniq Folks,
I would like to hear what the Ensoniq community thinks about the
following idea that I am considering pursuing. And let me emphasize
the word "CONSIDERING".
Several weeks ago I tried to post the "Demo Songs" for the VFX and
SD1 to the "File" section of our community here but there wasn't
enough storage space for three MP3 selections (about 4 meg or so).
That got me to thinking........
How `bout creating a website primarily for Ensoniq users to showcase
their music. I must emphasize that it is to showcase or share music
and not to sell music. Let me give an example.
Let's say you have a piece of music you have created or composed
using an Ensoniq synthesizer, at least in part. The song is posted
to the site under your name to include brief bio information. Also
included would be basic information such as included patches,
samples, loops, etc. In addition, if an on-board sequencer was used
or a computer software sequencer. Also included would be the other
synthesizers, sound modules, effect processors, etc. used in the
selection. Kind of a song "show and tell" or the "anatomy of my
song" if you will. Almost a work-shop type presentation.
You would have to get your song into an "MP3" format for
presentation. There would be no charge for posting your song(s)
although there would be legal matters to address, depending on
whether it was your composition or a previously released piece of
music. Streaming or downloading the selection might be an option but
again NO SELLING OF SONGS. And certainly there would be linking
back to your website if you have one.
Well, hopefully that is a very brief scenario to give you an idea of
my idea. Need some of your thoughts and opinions both pro and con.
Perhaps you know of someone who is already doing something similar
to this?
Thanks,
Alan
