Here is a link to a pdf file from Electronic Musicians Magazine that list their back issues and major articles included. This goes back to June of 1985.
I noted an article in July 1990 on the VFX but nothing in June. However, that doesn't mean there wasn't something in the June issue.

FYI currently they are revamping their warehousing and back issues are not available but I have been told that they will be within the next couple of months. However, they are not sure at this time how far back the issues will go that they will have available.

The first button to stick is the top left "soft key" - it seems hung up in
the hole in the display. I tried using the corners of a laminated card to
clean out any buildup in the crevice, but it is still sticking. The other
buttom which is starting to feel sticky is the "Sounds" button.

article in Electronic Musician Magazine in the June 1990 issue, page 80
which addressed "VFX buttons stick", anyone have old back issues of this
magazine?
