Didn't You get my mail?
Even though Ithe batteries look different, do You have the components I showed in the picture on Your bord? R2 is connected to PLUS. (R2 is the current limiting resistor so the battery gets charged at a few milliamperes. IF it is not called R2 in Your VFX, try to find a resistor connected to one of the solderpoints. What are the colorcode on this? (If You have any idea of what I'm talking about :)
Just trying to help - it sounds like You are exited about the sound in this old synth ;)

Thanks! I actually managed to get it all worked out that way. Now, I
can fill the banks to my heart's content with all sorts of amazing
sounds, and if I can figure that battery replacement out, I can
actually save them to the system! :-)
