Can you check if your midi interface would send a note off? If it doesn't the problem's probably in the KB module. What you can try without service manual and advanced knowledge is to check all pin connections (although this doesn't sound like the 'keyboard fix' problem) - there's e.g. a small piggy back board which holds the KB ROM - and the connector cable...
