Maybe a little bit of cleaning solvent for potentiometers can do it. You should get a non-conductive, lubricating type.

It only helps if it's dirt. It won't repair a broken one, of course.

I agree, most probably data/timbre slider. Happened to me on one SD1.

Selecting a parameter that doesn't really effect playback or the sound

is an ok temporary solution.


I opened my SD1 up, removed the display board & brought the display to

a qualified repair guy. Probably any good instrument repair shop can

replace the slider pot, they weren't made special for Ensoniq. Taking

just the display board in saved me some $.
