@Vince raven's and sirius sequencers are perfect for live performance, you can say they have been made for that! VERY user friendly! I can do a whole songs in 10 minutes (I mean I can SEQUENCE a song in 10 minutes... the composing part is not being considered here) you can select patterns in realtime with dedicated buttons; you can mute and transpose any pattern's track in realtime, and each track has its button; you also get advanced argpeggiators, but I have to recognize that if you play in a church those won't be used on a daily basis :) of course you can chain your patterns to create a whole song... also, programmed songs can be changed while they're playing: you can skip or repeat the song step that is playing, so the song can be longer / shorter etc. @ svbeats never used an MPC, anyway it's just for simplicity's sake that I use quasimidi sequencers! the fact that you can use a drumgrid for drum parts and a step sequencer for synth parts and record arpeggiated parts in the sequencer is of vital importance to me! of course you can also record in realtime and quantize, but sometimes you wouldn't want to, like with drum parts or punchy robotic basslines... also, you can have your own arpeggiator patterns, which can be similar to a step sequencer, they're fully editable! ensoniq has none of those options! greetings Fabio
