**ding ding** And the fight is on!! LOL, actually kids, it goes something like this: Fabio is real familiar and comfy with his rig without the use of the Ensoniq sequencer. IF, and I do mean IF we were able to talk him into getting acquainted with his Ensoniq (like we really concern ourselves to this degree about someone elses use of their own hardware....) he might post back to the group that he absolutely hates it! Seems to me that us old-timers who used the VFX-SD's and SD-1's sequencer when they first came out were the ones that truly got hooked. That was in the day when computers were way pricey, under-powered, and p.c. and Mac based sequencing software was pretty laughable. So Ensoniq's sequencers to "us" were HUGE and powerful!! Today, there are just so many more options. The MPC's are beasts! Personally, I used a Roland MC500 MKII (before I had my 1st EPS) with 2 separate banks of 16 tracks. Man I loved that thing. Also, if Fabio is more into grooves or push and play creations (with a bunch-o preset 'helper tracks'...or whatever, he prolly would never take to the Ensoniq sequencers. Hey, unrelated-- anyone interested in posting some old Ensoniq sequences they threw down "in the day"...just for fun? Is it possible to upload MP3s? Obviously, you would want to post only what you might have copyrighted. Maybe this isn't even allowed here...Richard could straighten me up if I'm out of line. I got loads and loads of cool stuff I did on my VFX-SD and SD-1 that I would have fun sharing. (Yup, it's all copyrighted.) Just curious. Maybe it's a stupid idea.... Most of the things You describe can be done. I'm able to lay down a whole song on a VFX-SD in 10 minutes too. Also, the step sequencing is indeed possible AND easy to use. I'm not trying to make some kind of competition out of this, but the VFX-SD is very capable in the sequencing department. And one of (if not THE) easiest to use at all..
