Hey, unrelated-- anyone interested in posting some old Ensoniq sequences they threw down "in the day"...just for fun? Is it possible to upload MP3s? Obviously, you would want to post only what you might have copyrighted. Maybe this isn't even allowed here...Richard could straighten me up if I'm out of line. I got loads and loads of cool stuff I did on my VFX-SD and SD-1 that I would have fun sharing. (Yup, it's all copyrighted.) Just curious. Maybe it's a stupid idea....

You can download "Ocean Music" for free from archive.org - it was all sequenced on the SD-1 and recorded into Garageband so I could add a little sweetening here and there. Used a Lexicon Vortex for some of the effects, but the work was done in the SD-1 sequencer.

I also did a CD which I think you can hear on last.fm - "Shatterday" - which was 100% VFXsd: sequenced there and recorded direct.

I loves me the sequencer, oh yes. It works very well for multi-tracking. For realtime, you *can* use it that way, but it's not a pattern sequencer/step sequencer. Those are really completely different animals! I have used it to be able to have a given sub-part of a song play, then dynamically swap to a different section or different arrangement of a section (the ability to play one sequence, then switch to another seamlessly by selecting the next one while the previous one is playing is great).

You can do pattern-sequencer-like stuff too, but you have to pre-record all your patterns and swap them while you're playing. Workable but not the same.
