Vince...I use an Boss DR770 drum machine with my SD1 and since I outboard
all the drum work to a drum machine I use less notes and less sequencer
memory.
I create all the drum work in the drum machine (on the drum machines pads)
and then set it to slave to the VFXSD, this way when I press PLAY on
the SD1 the drum machine is locked in time with the song 100%.
You will need to run a MIDI cable from the IN on the Drum machine to the
OUT on the VFXSD, you will need to make sure the Drum machine is set to MIDI
sync or slave.
I have also used an Alesis SR16 with great success but I found that the
Boss had a wider range of sounds so I switched.
