it will work
just use a editor as long as you set up the usb midi device properly
and have the editor set to the correct channels of the synth there should be no problem dumping single patches or banks to the vfx-sd
there has never been a program that converts sysex to floppy disk format its to difficult in transfer routines as both are totally different formats
its the same for any synth
ones midi protocol language and the other is processor and floppy control language of the instrument os
and seeing as every os is totally different and every ones disk format is different and how they impliment the data to disk is different to every machine to do a conversion software would be a coders nightmare thats why it has never been done and never will
when its easy just to dumpthe sysex to the synth

Thanks for the quick reply!

Ok, now I understand how floppies work with the VFX-SD now. It's a shame that there isn't a way to create image files from .syx on a computer, don't know why no one thought of it!

I think I'll just keep my spare computer upstairs from now on. I'll try my usb to midi cable, but it probably won't work!

Thanks again,
Jonathan.

I'm sure there must be some way as on the VFX-SD operating system disks it has sound banks on it. All I want to do is put my own sound bank from my computer onto a floppy, so is this possible?
