Harry, I'm hopin to sell both together. It's an anvil like case and together I'm hopin to get $400. The case alone is worth half that. The VFX SD is in perfect working order. The unit has some wear on the case, but it's only cosmetic. I have very few sounds. One disc that seems to only have drums and a cart with some basic sounds. I'm very interested in more sounds of all kinds. But need clean trumpet and other instruments. Plus rock n dance synth sounds. No need for drums. I'd happily pay for discs and postage!! Thanks. -- Jim Sent from my iPhone On Sep 4, 2013, at 4:40 PM, "musicwithharry" <musicwithharry@...> wrote: > What is your asking price? If I have a room full of them when I'm done, then cool. > > I will be in a position in November to start feeding my gear fetish at that point. > > I have had lots of Ensoniq products in the past, but sold a lot of it because I thought that I needed to get rid of my old stuff to have a newer sound. Boy, was I wrong. I had an extra VFX-SD, and SQ1+/32 and foolishly sold them. I also had a TS10 and MR61 and sold them too. I would really like an E-Prime too I think in addition to the lines I listed above. > > I have lots of sound files for the VFX-SD. Which ones do you currently have? When I got my hands on a VFX-SD back in the early 90's, I made copies of all of the voice disks that my friend had. If you can list the ones you have, I can see if I have copies or different stuff altogether. > > Grace, > Harry > > --- In Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com, Cable <cableizme@...> wrote: > > > > Hello! > > > > I recently acquired another VFX SD. It's in great shape n has a Anvil like case. I decided I really don't need 2. Are any of you interested in it? It would be shipped from Colorado, USA. I would then send these songs to a Yamaha MDF-II MIDI File Player so that I could play my songs live. I have 5 boards that I used live (Ensoniq SQ2/32, Korg X5, Roland JV880, Yahama TG-33 and Alesis QS6). I would set up all the tracks and then the Yamaha MDF-II would capture them. The Yamaha MDF-II is much like the Alesis Datadisk unit, but in tabletop format. > > > > > > > > > > Recently, I started finding my old floppies of my old show and instead of programming each song again from sctatch, I have been transferring them to the VFX-SD, recording them using the multitrack recording feature in the sequencer on the VFX-SD. I also set the clock to be external so it records at the right tempo from the MDF-II. > > > > > > > > > > On some songs, I've noticed that after the Yamaha finished "playing" the song to the VFX, it will stop, causing the Ensoniq to go into "editing" mode while it does whatever it does to lay the music data into the sequencer and finish creating the song. Sometimes, during the operation, it hangs and I've got to turn off the VFX-SD. When it turns on, I get the System Error 144 for a few times and then it comes back to the welcome screen and I've got to load in the sequencer again and my sounds reload the 60 Songs/Sequences selection I was using and do that song over again. > > > > > > > > > > Is this because the file on the Yamaha was not complete or something and it sends the Ensoniq haywire because the VFX-SD is looking for "end of song" information? It is not a big problem really, but something that just causes you to go a couple of steps back when adding songs to your set list and sequencer. > > > > > > > > > > Another thing that I noticed was that on certain songs, after I have recorded them the way I explained above into the VFX-SD sequencer, when I hit play to play from the VFX-SD, no sounds come out of the unit. I have switched the VFX-SD back to its internal clock, set the recording option to "both" instead of "multi" and made sure that the tracks were set up right on their output configuration (local or both, being on the right MIDI channel and that the volume levels are correct). I have also made sure that there is data on each track and there is. When I hit play, I can watch the measures go by in the "goto" screen so I know that the sequencer is running, but there is not sound, locally or externally. > > > > > > > > > > Can anyone help on that? > > > > > > > > > > Grace, > > > > > Harry > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
