Hi,
The Mega-Piano waves are only available on the newer VFX-SD II, not the original VFX-SD. You can't swap any chips; you might, however, be able to put the mainboard from the VFX-SD II (with the mega piano waves) into the casing of the VFX-SD with the working power supply; or vice versa, move the working power supply from the VFX-SD to the casing&mainboard of the VFX-SD II .
However, I would suggest you consult someone who actually knows what they're doing in that case, and not rely on my bad advice!
If, by the way, you have a 'spare' VFX-SD mainboard, I might be interested in that.
Best wishes,
// Christian

HowdyI've got two VFX-SDs that I've used mainly as controllers for years, but I did have some old sequences on disk that I loaded up on the "newer" one and noticed the megapiano doesn't work. I think it's something to do with the sampling. The older VFX power supply bit the dust a few years, so I swapped the sequencer upgrade chips to the newer one. Are there other chips I can switch out to correctly reproduce the megapiano, and other patches as well?Toby
