Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

I just got an SD-1 32 voice after not having had an
SD-1 since my 21 voice in 1992.  It sounds great, but
there is one problem that is aching me..  a column in
the vaccuum display is out.  I seem to have seen
another user that had a similar problem post about
this in the last few days... to summarize it, on bank
RM00, my middle column says:

ZIR ONIUM
 WO DERS

instead of

ZIRCONIUM
 WONDERS

... now i could deal with this if it only affected
patch names, but some critical data like the left side
of any 0-99 dataslider info etc that uses that column.

is this a common problem, and are parts still
available?  is the display built in such a way as to
disclude any ideas that maybe something that connects
to those particular lights is loose or burnt out?
