Re: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] Disk drive

2003-06-21 by Fabio D. GarcĂa

Thanks to all for your responses.
The disk drive issue it's not problem of mine. A user in my country send me
a mail telling about this.
I start to think ways to solve the problem, but I fall with O.S. loading
task. The only way to load O.S. it's via disk drive. So I think put a HD
drive but using HD diskettes formatted in DD mode. Once I listened that a
guys used HD diskettes in VFX-SD; when he/she want to format the disks,
VFX-SD formatted them in Ensoniq mode.
I see that you have different opinions about this issue. Anyone can tell
what type of disk drive uses a VFX-SD? With this info I can help to find for
a replacement unit.
Again, thanks for this useful information.
We're a great group.
Best regards,
Fabio

any computer parts store back then. Warmly yours, Frank Fortunato

VFXSD do not use a standard drive, Also a HD drive will not provide the
ability to use HD discs without disc failures.
