Re: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] Posting all my SOUNDS

2003-08-07 by Fabio D. García

Hello Hans,
Already I tried what you said, before, but It should be another kind of error. I continually receive error messages when I try send the syxex files created with Sysx view. Maybe the issue is different platforms (MAC / PC).
I'll try another ways.
Thanks
Fabio

Don't send the MIDI file to the VFX. Your Sequencer should be able to store the included sysex as an extra sysex file. In Cakewalk e.g. go to the sysex view. I'm sure other sequencers can do it as well. Which file did you have a problem with?

That's true Hans, but I tried and only I can upload one single patch. Also I received an error SysEx message.
Day after day I transmit sysex data to my sequencer to/from VFX-SD but with this file, I can't.
Any info is welcome,
Best regards,
Fabio

Fabio, it should work with any good sequencer program which is able to process midi files including sysex. I could even open it with a very old Cakewalk version (3.0). There are also the presets stored and another sysex file which I couldn't identify but I guess it's a sequence.

Hans

Hello,
I would like to know if someone using PC, could upload the files that Roger share. I can't.
Please tell me about the process.
Best regards,
Fabio

Hi Folks

I've just sold my dearly beloved SD-1 - sniff \8o( - and as a
parting gesture - I wish to post my entire library of sounds onto this
site.

I will post a bank of sounds called "thelot01.mid" in the uploads.

Fabio can't open them - so can you guys give me some feed back on
whether the format is compatible - and I'll upload the other 45 banks.

ALSO, please let me know if there are any copyright or proprietry
sounds in this collection - and we'll delete those sounds immediately!!

I have just swapped with friends over the years and I have no idea
where many of the sounds came from. (except a couple I came up with
like "Mush Strings", "Darth" - play middle C on an SD-1 to hear the
famous Darth Vader breathing - or "alien" - play middle C and the SD-1
says "alien" - no kidding!!)

let me know how you go with the first (test) bank....

Cheers

Roger
