Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

Hi, I am a new user, and would appreciate info on the VFXsd.  My 
keyboard came only with a power cord.  Is there more than one 
internal bank?  I can only seem to access one (10 x 6 = 60 sounds). 

Also, how do I:
1) check for the OS version on my board
2) if less then 2.1 I need to upgrade it, somehow getting it onto a 
disk (is it the old 700k ds/dd disk, or 1.4MB disks, and how do I 
get it from a Win XP and/or Win 98 PC to VFX format).  Does anyone 
have a source for the old disks?
3) How do I get patches on the keyboard?  
4) Where do you get an owner's manual (pdf for free or less $
than 
print copy)?  This would help answer a lot of my questions.
5) What do carts do, meaning do they have sounds on them (ROM)?  Or 
are they used for storing sequences or new sounds (RAM), or both?

If anyone has a document explaining all of this, it would be much 
appreciated.  Or specific links to web sites.
