Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

I am very familiar with the sequencer, I have been using it for 
years but I never used the mixdown function, I always did all my 
pans and fades the hard way. Now I started using mixdown and the 
instructions in the book are not very clear. Can you lets say, fade 
in and out of a song with volume, all tracks at the same time, or do 
you have to do each one separetly. I tryed just doing one track,and 
in the book it says (Hit seq. control, select mixdown, hit again, 
set edit track seq. then hit track 1-6, select track then hit 
volume) When I start to move slider to change volume nothing happens 
when you play back. Also what is the difference between (edit tracks 
song or edit tracks seq (button select under Seq. control button) 
The only info in the book I can find is on pager 5-14,  5-35. If 
anyone knows what I'm doing wrong let me know, Thanks.
