Provided you have a floppy drive for your computer, you should be able to format disks for the VFX-SD on your computer. Unless I'm mistaken, this is the only way to load the new OS into the VFX-SD. Here's what you need:

1. Giebler's EDE Ensoniq disk manager v1.09, available at
hometown.aol.com/mishon66/ede109.zip

2. A double-sided, double density disk (usually only high-density disks are available at office supply stores, so you'll probably have to order double-density online)

3. The OS file, available at
hometown.aol.com/mishon66/vfxsdos210.zip

After you unzip the EDE disk manager, be sure to put the OS file in the same folder as the disk manager program file, otherwise the OS won't be available to copy to the disk. Then just put your double-density disk in the drive, run the disk manager, and it should walk you through the steps.

I don't remember the button combination on the VFX-SD required to load the OS, but you generally do the same thing as you would to load voices from a disk, only you need to select "OS" instead of "1-voice" or "10-voices" or "30-voices", etc.

Hope this helps, and anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about anything.
Scott
