thinking of buying

Hello. I used to use a VFX-SD in high school, many moons ago, and liked it very much. I now have an opportunity to pick one up for $400. I have already downloaded the 2.1 OS and made that into a disk along with some blank disks (using EDE) to test its disk drive. I currently run an ESQ1 and really like it. Please let me know the things to check. If it's going to be a "crasher," how long will it stay up before starting to crash? Just till it's warm? The one at school only crashed every now and again, and I never saw the "keyboard calibration" errors. Is there an easy way to test if this is going to be a problem? I know I should test the floppy drive and MIDI in and out, and will do that. It will not see the stage, just my studio, so if it's stable when I get it it is not going to get banged around. I also went ahead and downloaded a whole bunch of patches off the web to get started, as well as the freebie windows VFX librarian program. I was overjoyed to find this list. Thanks in advance for any information you think I may find useful/interesting. - matty
