I am a happy owner of two VFX-SD's and a SD-1. If you
have a disk with OS version 4.1, that is for the SD-1 and will not work in a
VFX-SD. The disk you need should say Sequencer OS Version 2.10. This
is the latest version.( I am looking at my disk as I write.) Now I am
quoting from the owner's manual: " The VFX-SD Sequencer Operating System
(or O.S.) is the computer program which controls the operation of the
sequencer." " If some unforseen event or system error should
corrupt the sequencer memory, the VFX-SD will flash SEQUENCER MUST BE LOADED
whenever you press any of the buttons in the Sequencer section of the front
panel." Then it proceeds to tell you how to load the sequencer.
to load the sequencer from disk:
insert disk containing the most current sequencer OS
into disk drive
press STORAGE, then DISK
press LOAD the display is showing the disk load page,
with file type selected
move the data entry slider all the way up to select
TYPE=SEQUENCER OS
the display will
show: ;
LOAD FILE=VERSION
2.10
SIZE=63 *YES*
;
TYPE=SEQUENCER-OS
*NO*
press
yes the
display will say SEQUENCER DATA WILL BE ERASED so if you think
there is anything written in the sequencer you would want to keep, save it to
disk before you begin to load ( I don't think this will be an issue for
you).
press *YES* the display will say LOADING VERSION

I hope this will help you. When you load the OS
version you ARE loading the sequencer. SEQUENCER VERSION 2.10

hi there
im
a new owner of a VFX SD and everytime i try and use the sequencer,
as in
press any of the sequencer buttons it says sequencer not
loaded. i have a
floppy with the sequencer OS ver 4.10 i think and
yet when i try and load it
into the system (through the "storage"
button) it says "wrong
sequencer version."
can anyone help me with this, its a damn good
synth but id like to be
able to use the sequencer
aswell
